A community-first project
At the origin of the PIXTAPES project is the will to federate a COMMUNITY of passionate people from all different musical horizons, and to make them share their passion. Behind the idea of saving MUSIC via tapes, we wish to create benevolent exchanges and sharing around the collection.
Moreover, we want to directly involve the COMMUNITY members in the choice of some tapes of the collection via COMMUNITY EVENTS and
a SWAP/REWRITE SYSTEM via the PixTape Recorder. Members will have the opportunity to stand up for their favorite genres, artists, or tracks, and to include them in the collection.
We also want to showcase the different talents of the community, and will organize several events directly involving the musical and graphic design skills of our members. But let's not say too much for the moment...
TO SUM UP, we hope to create a collection that reflects its community, and a community that feels represented by a collection. COME WITH US AND JOIN THE PARTY!

is a collection of 10,000 unique, randomly generated NFTs on the SOLANA blockchain with various backgrounds, models, labels and designs that captures the style of the 80s and early 90s.
Based on a RARITY SYSTEM defined by how the song titles are perceived in the cultural field, each PIXTAPES carries a unique feeling of freedom, wildness and nostalgia of the cassette golden era. Through this collection, we wish to federate a fun, passionate and benevolent community around music.

THE STORY
We are a team of 4 friends working in the VFX industry. A few days ago, we were approched by a traveller from the future - THE DOC.
Where (or when actually) he comes from, all MUSIC HAS COMPLETELY DISSAPEARED!!!
According to the Doc, this was caused by « a massive informatic bug that corrupted every single audio file in the world at the same time ».
In order to prevent the loss of music, the Doc got hold of a TAPE PLAYER, and after a few modifications turned it into the « NFT-REC », a machine that allows to upload music from tapes in the safest place he knows: the BLOCKCHAIN!
When he’ll be back in the future, the NFT-REC will be able to extract the audio content of the tapes.
But there’s a problem – the NFT-REC only works if the TAPE are MINTED.
That's why we need you.

Each month, out of the erased ones, 100 PixTapes are about to be rewritten to be introduced new songs in the collection

ALT 144 has a PhD in Computer Science and Mathematics.
He's a pixel and Glitch music lover.
He often has trouble distinguishing between the real and the virtual!
CRYPTOMAHAWK is a ex-Wall Street trader.
He's also a hip-hop addict introduced to the NFT world by MR. KAPLAN and FLINGO.
